Commercial floor scrubber OEM & ODM — buyer's guide
Walk-behind versus ride-on, disc versus cylindrical, and the certifications and documents importers need to clear customs: a practical sourcing checklist.
Walk-behind or ride-on
The first decision is format: walk-behind scrubbers suit compact retail, hospitality and facility cleaning, while ride-on and larger walk-behind units cover warehouses, stations and large floor areas. Both are mature, widely sourced products where the buyer's edge comes from the right tank, brush and battery specification for the duty cycle, not from exotic hardware.
What to specify before you order
- Brush system. Disc versus cylindrical, working width, and whether pad drivers or bristles suit your floors.
- Tanks and recovery. Solution and recovery tank capacity, and squeegee design for streak-free drying.
- Battery and runtime. Lead-acid versus lithium, charge time, and runtime per charge across a shift.
- Duty and build. IP rating, noise level, and the chassis and wheel specification for the environment.
- OEM scope. Logo, colour, packaging, and any control-panel or firmware labelling you need.

Questions buyers ask about floor scrubbers
What certifications do commercial floor scrubbers need for the EU and UK?
CE (EMC and Low Voltage) covers the EU, UKCA the UK, and FCC the US where applicable. We attach the declaration of conformity and test reports for the configuration shipped, and coordinate per-market approvals with the laboratory your importer nominates.
Walk-behind or ride-on, disc or cylindrical?
Walk-behind suits compact retail, hospitality and facility cleaning; ride-on and larger walk-behind units cover warehouses and large floor areas. Disc versus cylindrical, working width, tank capacity and battery type are specified per your floors and duty cycle; tell us the use case and we propose the build.
Are the lithium batteries documented for transport?
Yes. Lithium packs ship with UN38.3 and MSDS, plus the air, sea and land transport reports, alongside the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading or air waybill.
Can we brand the machine and packaging?
Private label covers logo, colour, packaging and control-panel or firmware labelling; buyer-paid tooling stays your property, documented in the contract.
What is the MOQ and how long is production?
A single sample unit can be ordered first to evaluate a model. Wholesale production normally runs 20 to 35 days from deposit and artwork confirmation, plus sea transit.
