Robotic lawn mower OEM & ODM — buyer's guide
What importers should check before sourcing robotic lawn mowers from China: navigation, cutting, battery and safety, plus the certifications each market expects.
Why China for robotic mowers
The same electronics, motor and positioning supply chain that powers consumer robotics makes China the default sourcing region for robotic lawn mowers. The differentiation that matters for a buyer is the navigation approach and the safety envelope, not the basic hardware, so specify both clearly and ask for evidence.
What to specify before you order
- Navigation. Perimeter-wire, wireless boundary or RTK/GNSS positioning. Each changes installation effort and the kind of garden it suits; RTK needs clear sky and a reference station.
- Cutting and slope. Cutting width, adjustable height, and the maximum slope the mower will climb and mow safely.
- Battery and runtime. Cell type, charge cycle, runtime per charge and the rain and water-ingress rating (IP).
- Safety and sensors. Lift, tilt and obstacle detection, and how the mower behaves at the boundary and on loss of signal.
- Connectivity and app. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or cellular, app features, and whether firmware and app naming are part of your OEM scope.
Certifications and import documents by market
In the EU, robotic mowers fall under CE (Radio Equipment, EMC, Low Voltage and Machinery directives) and UKCA in the UK; FCC applies in the United States where the device radiates. Lithium batteries need UN38.3 and MSDS. We ship the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, certificate of origin on request, and the declaration of conformity and test reports for the shipped configuration.
How a first order works
Send the target models, quantities and destination market through the inquiry form; we reply within one business day with the wholesale price list and MOQ sheet, and a single sample unit can be ordered first. Wholesale production normally runs 20 to 35 days from deposit and artwork confirmation, plus sea transit.

Questions buyers ask about robotic lawn mowers
What certifications do robotic lawn mowers need for the EU and UK?
In the EU CE under the Radio Equipment, EMC, Low Voltage and Machinery directives, plus UKCA in the UK; FCC applies in the United States where the device radiates. We attach the declaration of conformity and test reports for the shipped configuration.
Which navigation type should I specify?
Perimeter-wire, wireless boundary or RTK/GNSS. Each changes installation effort and the gardens it suits; RTK needs clear sky and a reference station. Tell us the target market and garden profile and we will propose the build.
Are the lithium batteries documented for transport?
Yes. Every shipment includes UN38.3 and MSDS for the cells and packs, with the air, sea and land transport reports, alongside the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading or air waybill.
Can we brand the mower and packaging?
Private label covers logo, colourway, packaging artwork and app naming; buyer-paid tooling stays your property, documented in the contract.
What is the MOQ and how long is production?
A single sample unit can be ordered first to evaluate a model. Wholesale production normally runs 20 to 35 days from deposit and artwork confirmation, plus sea transit.
